| Related duties / activities |
- Prepares and delivers practical works for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate courses, as well as for lifelong learning and development modules;
- Coordinates students’ projects, Master’s degree theses, graduation, and bachelor’s degree papers, as well as teacher training practice, in accordance with the curricula;
- Carries out evaluation activities during entrance examination sessions, within the common teaching activities and during graduation examination sessions;
- Provides tutoring and consultation sessions for the students he/she teaches;
- Participates in different boards and councils within the academic community;
- Participates in teacher training activities in his/her field;
- Performs research activities according to the scientific research plan established with the Physical Training department;
- Elaborates and publishes studies, articles, materials in field-related journals and magazines or defends them within national and international scientific research events (scientific sessions, symposiums, congresses, etc.);
- Elaborates curricula and syllabi, course materials, manuals, teaching materials and tests for the courses he/she has been granted tenure;
- Prepares and uses the teaching logistics appropriate for the courses he/she has been granted tenure;
- Participates, within multidisciplinary research teams, in the joint carrying out of the national and/or international research projects;
- Writes books and manuals in the field corresponding to the position or contributes with specific chapters to dissertations/monographs approved in the university’s internal publishing plan;
- Respects and applies the legal provisions regarding the handling of classified documents. |

| Job application contest procedures |
The Contest Board evaluates the applicant in terms of the following aspects:
- Relevance and impact of the applicant’s scientific results;
- The applicant’s ability to guide and coordinate students or young researchers;
- The applicant’s teaching abilities for the positions involving teaching activities;
- The applicant’s ability to transfer their knowledge and results to the economic or social environment or to promote their own scientific results;
- The applicant’s ability to work in teams and their research efficiency in accordance with the applicant’s area of expertise;
- The applicant’s ability to work within or coordinate research projects;
- The applicant’s professional experience in other institutions than “CAROL I” National Defense University
The contest will be conducted in two phases:
PHASE #1:
The applicants will deliver a public lecture in the presence of the Contest Board for at least 45 minutes during which they will be presenting their most significant professional results obtained so far and their personal academic development plan. This phase will comprise a question and answer session addressed by the Contest Board.
PHASE #2:
Upon the request of the Contest Board members, the applicants may conduct some teaching activities in front of the Contest Board or a group of students, or they will go through other activities meant to show that the candidates’ skills are in accordance with the established performance criteria.
In case of conducting a teaching activity on Military Physical Education the Contest Board will choose a topic from the list of topics mentioned in section E. The chosen topic will be communicated in writing to each applicant, 48 hours prior to the public lecture exam.
